Sony’s patent for the a hybrid controller between the current PS Move controller and the standard Dual-shock controller was just released last week (November 29th). The patent sees the dual-shock controller being divided into two “detachable” parts with their own PS Move “ball” or “orb” attached to them.
The hybrid controller will function the same as a dual-shock for normal PS3 games and as you detach the two parts, it becomes fully functional for PS Move games. The one thing that could be a foreseeable problem with this is all the clutter in one place, couldn’t they just sell a PS Move and Dual Shock bundle instead of putting everything in your hands at any given time?
Documents attached along with the patent show that the controller will indeed support the current generation of Playstation (PS3) and will be indeed released before the PS4 or “Orbis”. Release date for the hybrid are yet to come.
