Artorias of the Abyss

Namco Bandai have announced the release date for the DLC “Artorias of the Abyss” for Dark Souls. The DLC will be available on the PSN Store and XBOX Live on October 24th for an unconfirmed price.

Artorias of the Abyss will bring a more enhanced player versus player environment. Players will be able to assemble coordinated battles with each other. It will also include a match-making feature available to all console players so that they can see how they rank against other Dark Souls PvP enthusiasts.

As for single player gameplay, the hinting stone and summoning stone will stay intact for that multiplayer touch even when you’re playing alone. There are going to be new environments that the player can battle through, more bosses and monsters for the player to overcome. There will be more weapons and magical abilities, as you play you’ll be able to customize your character to best fit your play style.

There’s going to be a lot more dungeon crawling and of course the core of Dark Souls will stay the same, as with any DLC. The expansive areas that are being added will seamlessly be added to the current world of Dark Souls.

Only Dark Souls can get you, as the player, to immerse yourself into the gameplay so much that you feel part of it. However, the difficulty of the game will remain the same, as the Namco director announced earlier this month.

The DLC will focus on the multiplayer aspect of the Dark Souls, and more or less an expansion to the story of Artorias. It’s always been something that fascinated me, I kept seeing the name Artorias all over the game on weapons and lore, now we become enlightened!
